I currently possess 16 GB of high-end DDR4 memory and recently purchased a mismatched set to upgrade. It functions, but the clock speeds are lower (CAS is 17 instead of the expected 16). Upgrading seems necessary. I need to return it, but I can't locate my original kit for sale. It was bought from Newegg and is now out of stock. I'm considering eBay, though part numbers are rarely listed there. I searched using the part number, but only newer kits appear (larger capacity but not necessarily better performance). My target RAM is the Ram Trident Z 4-3600C16D-8GTZKW model. The timings look solid for 3600 MHz DDR4 at 16-16-16-36, so I wouldn't want to discard it for a newer 32 GB option.

Yeah, this kit is definitely a decent one. It’s a budget B die, but it still handles the 3600MHz CL16-16-16 specs, especially with enough voltage. You might need a slight overvoltage boost, but it’s quite tolerant and should stabilize at least for benchmarking. If it isn’t fully stable, raising it to 1.4V should work fine.
Configure the clock speeds and start without problems using auto-voltage. Run a stress test to check for instability. Prime95 or MemTest64 may indicate issues.
Memtest outperforms Prime95, though it’s probably enough for most needs. If you’re aiming for top memory speed, you can fine-tune secondary and turnaround timings for better results, or simply use pre-set dual rank B die settings—just let me know if you’d like some to share.
