I aim to participate in several Facebook groups. You can select members and view all contacts within each group. Is there a method to conceal your presence from others so no one discovers you belong to the group? I plan to reach out to a few individuals in those groups and communicate privately with them. If someone posts or comments, I want to acknowledge their interest but ensure the comment remains hidden from other members. Would it be feasible to send a message only to specific people without exposing the post to the entire group? Also, can I remain private about my contact with just a select few while still sharing details about products I find interesting?

To modify details such as locations or personal connections, locate the About section beneath your cover image, tap more beside the desired information, and select Edit. Choose the recipient group next to this data to determine your audience. While editing, you manage visibility using the audience selector. Before photos, updates, and tagged activities appear on your timeline; enable timeline review to approve or remove items. Remember, you remain tagged, and any shared content reaches the audience that selected other Facebook pages (like Feed and search). Assign an audience for posts you’re tagged in on your profile. To view how your profile appears to others, use the View As option. You can also adjust privacy settings—click your profile picture at the top right, then Settings & privacy, click Settings, and select Privacy in the left menu. Note: Public details like name, photo, username, and network info are visible to anyone, which is intentional for transparency. Only you and your friends may post on your profile, and you retain control over who sees each update.

I looked at a specific Facebook profile in a group and saw their account locked. However, when I joined the group and searched for their name, it appeared. It seems possible that profiles can be visible even if they’re locked. If someone joins a group, you might see recent members or activity there. There’s likely a way to manage visibility—like setting audience controls or blocking options—but details depend on the platform’s settings. Replying to a message and adjusting who sees it is also an option, though it depends on how the group is configured.

There’s no straightforward way to hide your name from a Facebook group search. Blocking yourself won’t prevent others from seeing your name if they search. Private messages are limited to the recipient, but public replies remain visible to all members. Comments can be hidden by the commenter, but they’re still accessible to anyone viewing the post or checking the group feed.

You could set up another Facebook account with a different name and change your details. However, others would notice. Alternatively, you can secure your page so no one sees your friends or posts on your profile. You can restrict who can view your posts or messages. Some settings let you control access to specific people or groups. If your profile is set to friends-only viewing, there should be no connection to your original account. FB records the IP address you use, so it can identify both accounts as coming from the same source.

You're asking if clicking the members list in a Facebook group prevents others from seeing your name when they view your posts or comments. You want to know if a comment on a post can be visible only to you, not to other group members.

Blocking others in a group prevents them from viewing your message to that post, but they won’t see any of your future posts afterward unless you lift the block.

With around 10,000 members, you’d likely need to exclude everyone except the specific individual or group you’re addressing. There probably isn’t an automatic feature for this, so you might have to manage it manually or use a moderation tool.
