QLC offers significantly lower ratings and often underperforms HDDs once the buffer empties. They tend to be dramless with inferior components. The SLC buffer changes size depending on usage. When your drive fills up quickly, it shrinks rapidly, causing transfer speeds to drop below 200MB/s. In such cases, large updates like game patches can take much longer—perhaps an hour and a half for a 30-minute update. It’s better to allocate a bit more space, which will help you reach full capacity. After paying for the game, it should respond almost as smoothly.
