I'm working through a series of tests to see how RAM affects performance in this particular scenario. Completed several non-gaming benchmarks already, but I think it's time to include some gaming titles. Which games tend to improve with more RAM? My current setup is 6000C30, and I expect turning off EXPO will bring it down to 4800C40 for the first two data points. I have additional RAM coming in from a similar speed range, so I'm trying to isolate any effects from CPU settings. So far, Watch Dogs Legion (known for being CPU-intensive) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1080p have been tested. My collection isn't extensive, which limits the results. I'm having trouble locating RAM speed tests for Zen 4 or newer CPUs specifically for gaming purposes.

Consider checking out YouTube videos from channels that run similar tests, like the HuB channel. For example, you can watch this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcYixjMMHFk&t=1472s They use titles such as Star Wars Judder: Survivor, Remnant 2, and Hitman 3.

The top title I recall that performs well on ample RAM is Spider-Man Remastered/Miles Morales.

Thanks, but sadly I don’t own any of those. Unless they’re available as demos or standalone benchmarks, it’s not possible. Looking at it another way, you don’t know the games I own, but it’s likely I’ve played most that have been offered for free on platforms like Epic Game Store. I discovered the two you referenced from an older TechSpot review, so they’re essentially the same as HUB, but now I don’t have to listen to Steve’s commentary.

Many players enjoy Warzone, yet comparing them consistently is challenging. Strategy and simulation titles such as Arma 3 and Factorio work well. MMORPGs like FFXIV perform better in densely populated regions.

Looking for games with pre-built tests instead of relying on external tools. I’m considering COD MWII since I already have it, but I want to avoid reinstalling. There’s a Total War title I know has a built-in benchmark—worth checking if it matches my needs. Anno and Civ are possibilities, though I’m unsure about their current benchmark quality. A standalone test in the actual game could work, but consistency across different systems is uncertain.

According to my understanding, the COD benchmarks are a modest multiplayer map featuring bots. It doesn’t closely mimic Warzone.

Thanks for the save! I noticed both items belong to the COD collection, which led me to believe they could be connected.

Most engine code stays in CPU cache while assets are loaded into GPU VRAM. RAM speed likely won’t make much difference beyond two main factors. The game is initially CPU-intensive. You’re leveraging the iGPU/APU, which performs well with RAM speed. In my opinion, testing games on the iGPU/APU with various RAM configurations would reveal a bigger gap in performance across different RAM speeds.

Typically when a game affects the CPU, RAM plays a role in that performance. It's not surprising that the 9800X3D buzz wouldn't exist otherwise. From my testing, even moving between 4800 and 6000 MHz gives noticeable gains. I usually stop at around 6000 to avoid AMD IMC issues. Some titles improve more than others, but specific RAM evaluations are rare in gaming. Since I'm not a strict benchmarker, I don’t test everything, but I think certain games would be worth adding alongside other tasks that matter to me. I hadn't thought about the iGPU yet—it might be a useful test. Unfortunately, the 7800X3D built-in version seems too weak to overcome any RAM limitations. I don’t own any other DDR5 systems, and I haven’t planned to acquire one at the moment.
