Tips on laptops - what you can afford to spend.
Hi everyone,
I’m searching for a portable laptop with solid battery life and strong processing capabilities. It should handle heavy tasks like number crunching. I’m open to a convertible design if it fits my needs.
Budget-wise, around $3500 is a good starting point, though I’m flexible if needed.
Size-wise, I prefer a notebook between 14-15 inches—lightweight yet sturdy.
Screen resolution should be at least 1920 pixels on each side.
I need both portable and desktop options, ideally both.
Battery life is important; I’d like more than 10 hours.
Do you want to play games? If yes, please list the games and their preferred settings (Low, Medium, High).
Other tasks include photo/video editing, scientific computing, and drone image stitching—sometimes heavy workloads.
Storage capacity should be at least 2TB, with the option to upgrade later.
If you have specific stores in mind, share their links.
I’d like to keep the laptop for about four years.
Regarding optical drives, I’m undecided—do you prefer DVD ROM/writer or Bluray ROM/writer?
Preferred brands are HP (maybe not), Lenovo, Dell, and gaming brands that build thicker devices. I’m looking for something sleek and thin but powerful.
Lastly, let me know your country of residence.
