Tips for overclocking AMD Phenom X6 1100T
Hello everyone!
I'm planning to overclock an AMD Phenom ii xii1100t CPU.
My setup includes an old ATX case, no extra components, and a 92nm cooler on the back.
I have a Chieftec 550W PSU, a Chieftec GPS-550AB-A 550W motherboard, 16GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, and a 1TB 7.2kRPM HDD.
I want to boost my CPU performance as much as possible while keeping stability and temperature below 50°C.
Is this configuration feasible? What cooler would be best?
Please ignore the modern PC comments! Thanks for your help. Have a great day!
If you're going to limit your core temp to 50C, there's no sense doing any OC'ing. I am surprised if it maintains below 50C maxed out at stock. 62C is the recommended max core temp. Are you planning on investing in an after-market cooler? The stock cooler is not suitable for OC'ing.
Yes, I plan to get a strong cooler. What other parts should I expect? Like the motherboard and power supply unit? Psu mobo etc. Is this your power supply unit? It appears to have a weak +12v rail rated for only 360W and seems somewhat outdated. What graphics card are you using?
when i have the configuration i'm preparing for gtx 1050ti (75w tdp)
Did not confirm the PSI was truly yours. Still, if it is...
The GTX 1050 Ti should work on the weak +12v rails (360W). However, I wouldn't make any major modifications to that power supply.
Also, I'm not sure what the "when i ll hv the config" part refers to.
