Your PC has been running a bit slower lately, even when games are demanding high performance. The frame rates stay steady in most titles, but they often drop sharply regardless of intensity. Whether you're playing CS:GO, Arkham series, or games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Metro, this issue persists. You have a GTX 970 with an i5-4590 processor and 8 GB DDR3 RAM. I’m not sure if age is the problem, so here’s some guidance.

Yes, I'm keeping an eye on the temperatures.

You might be encountering lag due to GPU VRAM or RAM constraints. With limited VRAM, most games now require higher RAM usage, making 8 GB less common for gaming setups. You could try identifying further lag patterns, checking frame rates in MSI Afterburner, and capturing screenshots of the issue.

Another suggestion could be MSI After Burner. It's a popular tool for installing and managing drivers.

However, this occurs with every game, whether old or modern, meaning my parts might not be current.

When the frame rate decreases, does it recover immediately or remains sluggish for some time? If the problem is straightforward, removing the side panel and directing a fan can help. If the slowdown is due to overheating, it should lessen or stop, guiding you toward the correct solution. -kp

I'll attempt that. For your query, the frame rates return swiftly, yet for titles such as CSGO or R6, maintaining these reductions turns into a challenge

Are you running low on space or hitting performance limits? Your system might face slow access or overheating due to dust accumulation. Consider updating security tools for better protection.
