Tips for boosting your 1060 Strix 6G OC version
Tips for boosting your 1060 Strix 6G OC version
i have adjusted the gpu settings on my gpu, setting the clock max to 1939, voltage at 0%, memory clock at 8488, fan speed default, power target at 116, temp target at 92c, frame rate target at 0. in furmark 1080p i achieved a sustain score of 4803. i’m curious if i can push it a bit higher—just to test with the normal oc profile or for casual gaming. would this affect my card? and is gpu tweak 2 reliable? thanks all <3
We all enjoy receiving something without paying.
I wouldn’t bother unless I got even a small advantage.
Your card is already heavily overclocked.
Graphics card makers sell their chips and put better ones in factory settings that are overclocked, allowing them to charge more. You might be able to push it further, but it’s not guaranteed.
They try to stand out by adding cosmetic upgrades and premium cooling solutions, which also command higher prices.
I believe you still get good value with a basic factory overclocked card.
If you want more performance, they simply purchase a higher-tier model from the start.
Avoid letting the card run too hot as excessive heat or high power can cause damage, though most programs restrict this. Increasing GPU voltage may lead to issues over time, but setting it to 100% for a short period can extend lifespan. Gradually raise the voltage until you notice artifacts or system crashes; if so, reduce clock speed by -5mhz and memory by -20mhz. Remember it’s not overheating—test under full load to confirm stability.

I bought it a month ago and it works fine for me. I just need to improve my scores on Userbenchmark 3DMark (myb) and Furmark. When using it normally, I stick to standard settings, but I’m looking for tips on how to overclock it so I can reach that 1% percentile of 1060’s in the benchmark.
