Hi there, I just bought a tinker board and everything seems to be working fine. But when I try to launch Gnome from the lock screen, the buttons vanish and it doesn’t respond for a few seconds before centering the pointer. I’ve reinstalled Gnome and even the OS, but it still doesn’t work. I’m a total newbie with Linux, any tips would be super helpful! Thanks.

It has just 2GB of RAM, so consider a minimal distro like LXDE or LXQt. GNOME is significantly heavier than either option. LXDE is currently in maintenance since its developers focus on LXQt, though it remains stable and nearly complete. LXQt isn’t fully released to 1.0 yet, but it’s reliable enough, more visually appealing, and will eventually include features LXDE can’t.
