Timing variations occur following the power outage.
Hello, I'm facing some problems with my new PC. It's around five months old now. The specs are: a 5th generation CPU, 16GB RAM, 3600MHz clock, an RTX 3060 graphics card, 12GB of storage, and a C650 motherboard. I'm using Windows 10. Recently, while playing AC Origins, my power went out unexpectedly. After rebooting normally, the performance dropped significantly. Even when not in intense gameplay, FPS stays around 90, but it now fluctuates, especially when entering areas full of NPCs or enemies. Another game, Rocket League, also showed sudden drops from 360 to 100 FPS, which I hadn't experienced before. I've tried various troubleshooting steps—software updates, DDU, DISM, general optimization, and even reinitializing Windows with the "keep my files" option. A recent memtest ran cleanly without errors. I'm really hoping the hardware is fine. Please let me know if you need more software-based solutions before considering a hardware check.
Hardware issues usually stem from physical components rather than software. A fresh power supply unit and possibly a motherboard could be the culprits. This doesn’t seem logical, so clarify what you mean?
