Hello, I own a new RX 7900 XT from Sapphire the Vapor X. Recently, my game crashed with the driver timing out and the app closing. Before this model, I had a 6950 XT that I returned because the coil whine was too loud. The same problem happened again. Could it be related to my graphics card or the drivers? I also played Apex on the 7900 XT. My system specs are: CPU R7 2700X, RAM 16 GB, GPU Trident Z, motherboard B450 AORUS PRO, power supply Seasonic Prime 1000W, 80 Plus Platinum.

How frequently does it crash? Is the issue consistent? Did you perform a fresh driver installation via DDU? Have you run a stress test such as Aida64 to check for error output?

Only happened once during like a 2 hour session of apex. I didnt try anything further. I just posted the issue as it appeared. I started the game after the crash and it ran fine after that for like another 30 minutes. After that i stopped gaming as i had to go. The amd software wouldnt open. After a restart the app worked again. I will try those steps Btw it is a fresh install of windows with no other than amd drivers ever installed

It seems this only occurred once before, possibly a one-off situation. Often people overlook checking the motherboard and CPU drivers, since outdated versions for these components can lead to similar problems.

Be careful about that. It’s possible my chipset is outdated. I just upgraded the BIOS to the newest version. I didn’t mention it, but I also installed the latest AMD graphics driver today before I began gaming. Maybe this is connected. Before I had the issue (though I didn’t play much since the new card, so it’s hard to say if the driver is the cause).

Hey AMD, not many people know about its drivers, but I’d recommend trying a fresh install since it’s safe. If you’re unsure how to proceed, you can use DDU (Driver display uninstaller) at https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis...nload.html. Good luck, and let me know if updating the driver resolved your issue!

Do you have Gigabyte Control Center set up? If yes, remove it. That was the main reason for my Radeon Driver Timeouts.
