I constructed a system around eight years ago using insights from discussions here; now I'm revisiting with fresh energy. My present setup has proven reliable, yet it feels outdated and I'm eager to refresh things. A close acquaintance frequently upgrades his machine with the newest components and would gladly share some of his preferred picks, making this an ideal moment to finalize the project. I'll list the components I've gathered so far and seek recommendations on additions to complete the configuration.

From the three items you received from your friend, the processor and case are in good condition. However, I recommend considering a DDR5-6200MHz RAM kit or better to improve your platform's performance. Use a dual-channel setup with two RAM kits.

Your PSU is quite old. If you decide to go for a custom loop, you can check the watercooling guide;

Welcome to the realm of water cooling. This manual is intended for those interested in diving into water cooling or evaluating it as a cooling solution and hobby. There’s a wealth of information online, so I’ll do my best to summarize everything effectively.

The PSU was included in the initial assembly, making it eight years old. Thank you for the input, I'll look into the watercooling discussion.
