Hi there, I bought a G14 for $200 and it only functioned while connected to power. I ordered a Chinese battery on eBay, which works without a charger but has some problems. After rebooting the PC, the CPU runs fine on battery until the charger is removed or the system wakes up. When the charger is off or the computer starts, the CPU drops to 0.4 GHz until it reconnects or restarts. The system doesn’t throttle temperatures. Reinstalling Windows didn’t help. Updating the BIOS also didn’t resolve the issue. Turning off AMD PPM slightly fixes it, though performance remains slow—CPU speed is around 3.29 GHz.

It seems to be experiencing throttling because of high temperatures, causing the computer to run slower than usual. Using hwinfo64 can help monitor idle and load temperatures. There might also be a problem with the CPU or motherboard. It looks like this device was possibly purchased used—maybe it was an eBay deal?

Yes, I verified all the necessary drivers were installed after the reinstallation.
