I recently assembled my PC and everything appears to be working well for gaming. I played Dota 2 and completed Witcher 3 without any issues. About a month ago, I encountered throttling while installing repack apps. The fans became very loud, and checking the system showed the core temperature rising to 100°C. I stopped the installation immediately. After some research, many users reported similar experiences when unpacking software like Figma, which is GPU-heavy. The CPU throttle warning also appeared in HWInfo64.
Which operating system are you running? Many systems support high clock speeds and large display resolutions, but lowering the maximum power usage to around 200W is recommended.
When I assembled this PC, I handled the cooling myself, and I ran stress tests on both the CPU and GPU—everything turned out okay.
It's important to reapply thermal paste during installation. Regarding airflow, the setup you described helps by adding intake and exhaust fans at various points—especially the bottom ones—to improve cooling. The PSU has its own fans, and adjusting their speeds can enhance positive airflow. The BIOS version you mentioned is H.20 (29/12/2022) with a room temperature of 25°C.
It won't be a BIOS issue. Thermal paste should remain effective for years, which suggests this isn't the problem. Good ventilation will help, and the AK-620 should easily manage the CPU unless you're supplying it with 288W.
First, verify both fans are aligned in the same direction on the cooler. Next, disable the overclocking feature on the motherboard and observe the effects. Finally, remove the cooler, confirm the plastic pad is absent, and ensure proper installation.
