Hi everyone, I was checking my TP-Link router (TL-WR940N) to review its settings. The status page mentioned a secondary connection with its own IP address. I know the LAN and WAN IPs but wondered why this extra link exists and what role it plays. It has a LAN MAC address of 60-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx, an IP of 192.168.x.x, a subnet mask of 255.xxx.xxx.x, a WAN MAC of 60-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx, and an IP of 100.xx.xxx.xx via PPPoE that connects automatically. The default gateway is 113.xxx.xxx.xxx, and it uses two DNS servers.

It seems this applies only when your ISP offers another connection method. The IP 10.x.x.x falls within a private range and isn't accessible on the public internet. Refer to the guide image for instructions to turn it off.

Your WAN falls within the 100.64.x.x to 100.127.x.x range, which means it uses CGNAT.
