Threadripper Pro 3975wx has high interrupt latency issues.
Hello everyone, newcomer here, first time joining. I’ve run into a problem I’ve never seen before across multiple custom setups spanning over ten years. My 3975wx system is showing random, intermittent high interrupt latency. This leads to quick network drops and also causes audio issues like pops, clicks, or dropouts while streaming. After months of tweaking BIOS, drivers, Windows settings, and hardware swaps, I’m still stuck. I purchased the “pro” version of LatencyMon, which includes its high-level interrupt latency test at HIGH_LEVEL_IRQL, checking SMIs and CPU stalls. According to what I know, this should probe interrupt latency deeper than drivers, yet I’ve also seen spikes using the non-pro version. Here’s a sample result: https://pastebin.com/B1ytWE56 My setup includes:
- 3975wx Asus Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE Wifi Corsair AX1600i
- 3090ti 256 GB (8x32) with Kingston ECC 3200 DDR4
- Latest AMD chipset drivers
- RMA’d motherboard, PSU, RAM, and GPU
- Reinstalled Windows, different NVMe drive
I’ve tested every component, but nothing seems to fix it. I’m hoping someone can suggest a solution or point me in the right direction. This system is costly, and I really want it running smoothly for all those PCIe lanes. If you have any tips or tests you’d recommend, I’d be grateful. Thanks!
