Curious about the game experience thus far. What are your impressions of the new affinities? The supremacy affinity really stands out, especially the CNDR as an ideal early-game piece to tackle the siege worm for the achievement.

I played calmly as harmony and discovered winning was quite effortless for me. Dominance works well with the CNDR; I can easily capture cities with a few. It all hinges on what’s nearby—xenomass, floatstone, or firaxite. I’m really enjoying the game so far; it’s easy to understand and the new mechanics are straightforward. Just need to explore other victories and units, and I should feel content. - Samo

My dominance cities plus a pleasant twist for choosing not to avoid the asteroid: Capital: 2nd – Asteroid impact: Fact: CNDR units are built to handle asteroids and deliver a single decisive blow. Simple to complete achievement quests (siege worm required 3 hits, one-hit kill achievements are easy).

It’s not the same as playing Civilization V5—it feels unclear what units or structures I’m building, and I’m not really engaged. I was excited at first, but now I’m just going through the motions. Maybe I should stick with Civ5 instead.

I’m starting to feel the same as you, but after winning through teamwork I get it better. The more you play, the clearer things become. The game resembles Civilization V5 yet has its own unique twists. It’s impressive how they crafted this experience. I’m enjoying it and plan to begin streaming soon. No pressure to watch, but feel free to join if you’d like. http://www.twitch.tv/skcorpion86

You have every achievement that matches the highest level affinity.

Similar to Civ5, it struggles to pass on information clearly. I often lose my focus and the camera feels slow while moving around the map, leaving me with headaches after a few sessions. The game could have better remembered past leaders from earlier titles—like space Vikings or Gandhi in a space lab. I still can’t recall the names of those leaders or sponsors. Micromanagement feels mild compared to what I experienced in Civ5.
