I’m working on revising a system my friend used some time ago. I’d appreciate your feedback on the overall design and suggestions for improvement. The project should follow an ITX format since he has limited space in his dorm. Most components can be adjusted, and I’ll reach out to him when I see him about his storage setup or current PC usage.
Is this only about gaming? - Even a tiny setup, really a shoebox, limited on CPU cooler height but NH-L9 will work fine. - Faster RAM - Affordable SSD, if you prefer NVMe opt for HP EX920 - Much quicker GPU, it handles 1080p at 144Hz effortlessly in any title and performs well with 1440p too. - Improved PSU (don’t skimp on quality for an ITX case—it’ll get hot inside, PSUs struggle then). - Lower cost and slightly slower CPU in exchange, but a better GPU will noticeably boost FPS and R5 3600 shines in games regardless. Edit: I missed noting that you might need to update UEFI on this board, but it supports flashback making it simple. Edit 2: Swapped the case for the mesh panel version and added a case fan.
