I'm exploring the Assassin's Creed lineup. I need to know if the narratives connect smoothly between titles. I'm curious which game is best for a first start given my older hardware and budget. If the stories link, does it matter if you play them in order? Also, since I'm on a tight budget, do the games offer enough content to enjoy without spending much? Lastly, how would playing out of sequence affect my experience?

Hi, I just wrapped up part 2. The "addons" are ready, and I’m excited for part 3. They keep following the storyline and move smoothly from one chapter to the next. In part 3, you’ll also encounter many well-known historical figures—perfect if you want to collect all the flags and memorize the key names in Assassin’s Creed. It does take a bit of time, but it’s worth it!

Considering the options, beginning at AC 1 or another part of the series might be beneficial.

Consider purchasing the initial model. You'll likely encounter specific configuration options for a 960/Core 2 Quad setup.

On the other hand, I own a 2007 CPU... So... Given I'm just starting out with PC gaming, would getting the director's cut be beneficial? I don't seem to see any versions available outside of Steam that aren't the director's cut.

It simply confirms your response is being recorded without adding any further meaning.

Don't allow that thing to disappear, or you'll be sorry.

Tried the first game, disliked it and stopped. Played the third, enjoyed it. Tried the fourth, it was amazing. Currently playing the second one. Avoiding Unity now, and watching a walkthrough of Syndicate.

There are two layers to the AC narrative—one focused on the game-specific tale and another that ties everything together. The main story linking the games strongest is from chapters 1 to 3, with a shift starting around chapter 4 (not yet Unity or Syndicate). I recommend going through all of them; the overarching story is what really held my interest and the background is quite engaging.

Having experienced all the games in this series, I’d like to share my thoughts. The earlier titles were superior until it turned into a regular schedule. People grew tired of it, just as they did with CoD, causing some fans to leave. I believe Ubisoft should focus on creating a flawless experience rather than chasing release dates.
