I just placed an order for components for my first PC. I’m curious if I can still enjoy 4K games like LoL or more demanding titles without a 4K display. Since I don’t have a 4K monitor yet, I’m checking whether upgrading would be necessary. I’d also appreciate any advice or updates on the system, especially for someone new to building it.

Many titles exceed 60 FPS at 1080p resolution. LoL might work smoothly in ultra 4K, though some games may require adjusting certain options.

It can certainly play Minecraft if that's what you're asking about.

Consider replacing the PSU in your R9 290 with a more efficient one for better performance.

550 watts works well with a R9 290. The update lets you play most games in 4K, but for newer AAA titles you should lower settings to medium-high without AA. LoL should run smoothly at around 400fps in 4K.

I recommend using a PSU of at least 650 watts with good quality. I experienced problems with my 290x model paired with a 290W G600W unit from CM; it would black screen intermittently until I upgraded to a better PSU.

After purchasing the items, I verified the power supply. I’m not sure about overclocking, but I believe it should be okay.

This version delivers greater impact than the previous budget 4K video Linus posted, which reached its maximum resolution of 4K. You can anticipate it will perform at that level.
