I installed stock version 4.4.2 on my Nexus 5, but OTA updates kept jumping to 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 (as long as I used the recovery tool). Rooting failed after the update and needed a full re-root.

Using an app such as "nextapp sdfix" changes system files to fix functionality. This could potentially cause issues if not handled properly.
