I created this to reduce the load on my AMD and Intel CPUs—they were powerful but still struggled at 40°C... The fix came when I compared boot logs from safe versus normal mode, and the issue was found in "intelppm.sys". Here’s what helped:
- Start from recovery console during installation
- Open regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Intelppm
- Set the 'Start' key to '4' (which turns it off)
- Leave regedit open, move to c:\windows\system32\drivers
- Rename intelppm.sys to intelppm.sys.old just in case
- Exit and reboot
You might also try this in Safe Mode. It’s unclear if renaming the driver file is necessary—someone else could verify... Hope it works!
