I recently purchased a PC from one of the manufacturers, selecting my own components and OS. Later, I needed to adjust the motherboard settings and switch it into user mode because they hadn’t done that before. This was necessary for Valorant to launch properly. I admit I’m not very skilled with these things, but it’s still enjoyable to experiment occasionally.

The system came pre-installed with Windows 11, but I requested a version of Windows 10 during registration—easy enough, and I can revert if needed. After a few months, the PC began experiencing problems. The main issue was that my USB devices would reset during gaming sessions like RDO, Valorant, FFXIV, or Minecraft. As a gamer and streamer, I have multiple peripherals including a ringlight, webcam, mouse/keyboard, USB mic, headset, and capture card. The problem affects everything from 30 seconds to two minutes, and it’s unpredictable—sometimes it works for weeks, other times it fails completely.

I’m trying to figure out if the issue lies with my motherboard or the USB ports. I’ve only used official sources like Steam and Riot Games for updates, so I suspect a virus isn’t the cause, though Steam file checks aren’t foolproof. It could also be a PSU problem, but usually other stuff breaks too. Since I’m still under warranty and my job doesn’t allow me to replace ports or cables easily, I’m considering upgrading the PSU. From what I see on the motherboard, there don’t appear to be any solder joints or damage. These devices on my previous PC never had this problem either. It seems the culprit might be something else entirely.

Which motherboard is this? If we identify the exact model, we can provide the necessary drivers to resolve the USB connection issue.

I think it's a Z690 PG riptide. I reached out to them since it seems the drivers I found are already current, and I hope they have something not listed. I'll post an update once the problem is resolved or if it doesn't work.
