It won’t damage your graphics card if you try this—just a possible software clash. No need to fear damaging it completely.

If I had to get a new SSD, assuming it runs your OS, it might not be ideal right now. It could work temporarily, but I wouldn’t keep it long-term since the OS will likely grow too large.
