I was checking a 12400F and B660, but this setup is more affordable. A 13400 and B660 would cost around $568 in Australia, which is significantly less than the performance of a 12400 and a 5600 in-game.

This setup won't cause a bottleneck. In most cases, the GPU slot supports PCIe4 when both GPU and CPU are compatible (which explains why 3.0 risers still have issues). The screenshot from my rig shows it's displaying 8x3.0 because my vertical riser only uses a 3.0 cable, confirming both 8x3.0 and 4.0 work normally if used correctly.

It's actually quite helpful to know, though I haven't located any offers from sellers that seem untrustworthy or are charging too much.

That's my thinking, given how much power the 5800X3D has, unless there is a tectonic shift in the computer space if I go down this path, a used one will be my most likely upgrade.

It's available on newegg.ca, but I'm unsure about its availability elsewhere.

Used is the best choice in my view. Used motherboards work well too; there should be a lot of X570 models available, and you can inquire with the seller about the BIOS version on the board. If you prefer, affordable MSI boards often catch my interest.

I checked the listings but didn<|pad|> a M-ATX X570 boards aren't available. I don't have room for bigger cases, and there aren't any B550 options priced similarly to new ones.
