I used to run an i7-4770k on a H87 Asrock motherboard. After some RAM upgrades, I got a CM 650 silver build in 2013. The i7 arrived in 2018 at a low price. My SSD and case were reused for a Ryzen 5 workstation. If I switch to a 6600XT, new case and SSD, should it cover 1080p gaming? Should I consider upgrading the motherboard, RAM, and PSU? A Biostar Z87 needs a B550 board. All my current components worked before the upgrade, but I suspect the board and PSU might need replacement since it’s been sitting around nearly nine years, even though it’s been stored since 2021. I’m unsure about the refresh rate of my Haier 43" smart TV. My biggest games are Tomb Raider, Batman, and Dirt titles. Most of what I play is Lego games with my son. I plan to put the PC behind the TV.

Yep, no way. Probably stick to the latest components instead of an old motherboard and outdated RAM. For a new setup, go with fresh parts and a modern CPU. The latest Tomb Raider titles might have issues, but older Batman or Lego games should work just fine.

It seems like you're confirming a frequency of 60 Hz. That's clear. Thanks!

Check if using the original PSU is secure before proceeding.

It's a 160W power card; even when boosted by a short-term spike to about 320W plus other usage. From a power standpoint, it should perform well. Regarding safety and longevity, a 9-year-old power supply unit is likely better worth swapping for added confidence.

The Core i7 4770K is likely sufficient for many games for some time. Even with my older Core i5 3570K that runs my "console PC," it can handle most games at smooth frame rates, though it struggles with CODBOCW because it's a poorly optimized title and Battlefield 2042. For such outdated CPUs, upgrading will help you get the best performance possible on these systems.
