Hello tech ppl, I've got this two rigs: 1. - gigabyte z97 gaming 7 mobo (it features lg1150 socket and ddr3 ram so it's starting to show its age) - corsair vengeance 1600Mhz ddr3 ram 4x8gb dual channel (total of 32gb) - Intel i5 4460 3.2ghz cpu - gtx 750 ti 2gb graphics card 2. - Asus rog strix b450-e gaming mobo - g. Skill 2x8gb 3000MHz ddr4 ram - and ryzen 5 2600 3.4Ghz stock speed - rtx 2060 6gb graphics Now if I switch the graphics card in my older rig to an RTX 2060 6Gb, how much of a difference would that make in terms of fps in modern games such as cod mw, metro, gtav, bf5, etc? Would the ryzen based rig be MUCH better? I feel like Ryzen 5 2600 just doesn't cut it. It isn't good enough.

The i5 4460 performs less efficiently compared to the Ryzen 5 2600, meaning the RTX 2060 paired with a Ryzen 5 would likely offer better results in those games. Also, it's simple to push the 2600 to higher speeds.

It would definitely outperform the 750 Ti. However, I believe it wouldn't surpass the Ryzen 5 2600 with a 2060, which offers more threads, cores, faster clock speeds, and improved IPC—features that games utilize heavily. The 32 GB of RAM could give the Core i5 a slight advantage when background tasks are heavy, but that's the only consideration I have for the Core i5 versus the Ryzen build. You might want to test it out.

Consider upgrading to a Ryzen 9 instead of the current CPU. The Ryzen 5 3600 offers significantly improved performance compared to the 5 2600.
