Hi Everyone, I'm in Cold War Zombies and struggling with consistent 165 FPS under Medium/High settings. Raytracing is off. I've set the game to cap at 165 FPS, menu at 60, and 30 when not using tabs. Sometimes I hit around 110-130 FPS for a short time before it recovers.

Hardware: CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 OC; GPU - RTX Rog Strix 3070 OC 8GB; Motherboard - Asus Rog Strix B450-F; Cooler - Corsair H150i PRO; RAM - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB; PSU - Corsair RMx 850W; Storage - Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVMe; Monitor - NZXT H440 at 165 Hz.

The 3070 functions similarly to an 2080ti, while the R5 3600 may cause performance issues in many games. Dependence on game type and configuration plays a big role. Lowering visual settings usually reduces CPU strain, but without specific GPU and CPU metrics it's hard to pinpoint the exact bottleneck. It might be either a CPU limitation preventing 165fps at 1440p or full GPU underutilization, but we need more data to confirm.

Another approach is to review the performance section in Task Manager, which displays CPU and GPU usage along with additional details.

Checking my Resource Monitor in Task Manager shows the CPU usage between 60% and 67%.

In this Cold War setting and game mode, my recall feels quite strong.

It's odd your GPU is near full capacity (98%) while the CPU stays at 64%. It might be possible to push further. With two monitors, you could check Task Manager on one screen and see how it performs. I’m not familiar with Cold War, but I think a 3070 could easily reach around 165 fps.

It seems you're experiencing a minor CPU limitation, though not severe. Your GPU is nearly at its maximum usage, so a faster CPU won't noticeably improve frame rates. I'd expect consistent 165 FPS wouldn't be achievable even with a more powerful processor.

He seems to have more GPU activity than CPU load, so it shouldn’t be a CPU limitation. Adding a Ryzen 5000 or i7 10700K might boost performance slightly. But it probably isn’t a big deal.
