I attempted to restore my iMac by entering recovery mode and clearing the disk, but when reinstalling the OS it reports this component is unavailable. I’m using my original Apple ID and checked online support, but the issue persists. The error message remains after signing into iCloud.

Shut down your Mac. Press Command-Option/Alt-R while holding the Power button. (On some keyboards, Option is labeled Alt). Keep pressing until a spinning globe appears and the message appears. It will show a progress bar. Wait until it’s complete. Look for the MacOS Utilities screen. Click Reinstall macOS and begin the setup.

Your iMac is from a previous year. If it includes a Fusion drive, you might need to reassemble it before installing. It's been a long time since I owned an iMac, so I'm trying to recall details.
