Hello everyone, I observed my CPU reaching 90 degrees during Watch_Dogs 2 at 2k resolution with core performance boost turned off. It’s unusual since I’m using Wraith Stealth as the cooler. My voltages from HWinfo show 1.031 V when idle. How can I resolve this issue?
Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte B450M H, Corsair MP510 960 GB, Kingston 16 GB 3200 MHz CL16, Thermaltake V200 600W, Asus Rog Strix RTX 2080 Super
No, the temperature remains the same whether you remove the side panel or not.
Since the Wraith Stealth cooler has a strong bite, consider a quality aftermarket alternative.
If this applies, the airflow problem is probably the main concern. If you don’t want to replace your case, add as many fans as you can. Think about using a bigger tower cooler rather than the standard one. However, if the temperature drop is significant, I’d strongly recommend getting a new case—models like the Phanteks P300a, P400a or Coolermaster NR600 are good options.
Purchasing a 240mm AIO for the CPU at the top of the case may increase overall temperatures slightly, but it won't necessarily cause a significant drop in CPU temperature. Adding two more fans could improve airflow and help maintain stable temps.
