Hi, I had a strange problem after upgrading my PC today (from a 4670K). Even with high clock speeds, things feel odd. Everything in BIOS is set to auto, PBO is off, and the power plan is balanced. Is this typical for a Ryzen 3000? I'm really new to this stuff.
They will sit quietly, though it's a weak start and even shifting the mouse might trigger full idle. Another problem is that Task Manager doesn't accurately show clock speeds on Ryzen with PBO turned on; you should use HWInfo or Ryzen Master to check them.
That's accurate. The Effective Clock reflects what the cores are actually doing.
The 3.3GHz figure is essentially irrelevant. Focus on the much lower effective clock speed instead.
