I bought a Ryzen 5 5600x CPU and an MSI B550 motherboard. It didn’t boot to BIOS or show on the monitor. After flashing the BIOS with the old CPU in a new slot, it worked fine. Still can’t get past BIOS. I made Windows install media and put in the new CPU, then used Windows USB to try booting again. The display still isn’t showing. I flashed the BIOS once more with the new CPU and reset the CMOS, but the signal keeps coming through. The Debug LED is red for the CPU—makes sense. I’m really stressed and this has taken a lot of time. My friend who helps with builds is also stuck. Any suggestions?
Welcome to the discussion boards!!! Is this a Beta BIOS after all??? If yes, update with the newest non-Beta version. Does anyone have a comparable setup where you can insert the 5600X to test if it boots successfully? If you're able to do this with a compatible BIOS, give the 5600X a try in his system. Should it still not boot or show a CPU LED on the motherboard, it might indicate a faulty component.
These bios listed on that page are alpha versions 7C91vA5, which is an example motherboard. The letters followed by numbers usually indicate official alpha or beta drivers unless there have been recent updates. I’d consider going with the A4 bios to check the results.

I brought the components to the microcenter and had them flash the BIOS. They explained the situation clearly and suggested a $30 service. After that, they identified a faulty CPU (brand new 5600x) and replaced it without any cost. Once installed, the new BIOS loaded properly and everything is functioning well. I tested it this evening and it's working perfectly!
