Hello, everyone This is quite the odd and complicated issue I have I upgraded my GPU from RTX 2060 to RTX 3080, my CPU from Ryzen 7 2700x to Ryzen 9 5900x and bought an additional 16 gigs of RAM, now sitting at 32GB of DDR4 3000MHz RAM. But something odd happened. After I put everything into my case, it turned on but the DRAM light was present on my Aorus B450 motherboard. I tried swapping memories, only leaving the 2 old ones in, then only the 2 new ones in, taking OUT the memory completely... it didn't seem to help. The DRAM light remained on. Now, I put in my old 2700x CPU and the light was also on for 2-3 seconds but then everything booted up just nicely (with all the sticks installed like they were beforehand, where they didn't want to start with the 5900x) So, here's my question. The site where I bought the CPU says it only supports DDR4-3200 Do I have to buy DDR4-3200 RAM or is something odd going on with my CPU because it doesn't want to work with my DDR4-3000 RAM? It seems you're wondering if the recent problem might be linked to a past change you made. That could definitely be a factor.
The system doesn't include a Ryzen 5000 chip by default. You'll have to modify the BIOS to allow it to start
My board can handle more memory than expected—it’s just that my RAM is 3000MHz, and I thought a 3200MHz would be better. Updating the BIOS made a difference, thank you all!
I own a b550m and when I purchased my 5900x it required a BIOS update and then functioned properly. Interestingly, one HDMI port stopped working—doesn’t disturb me at night but feels strange since it’s the front port. No loose connections detected. It’s not the end of the world as there are still eight more ports. The front ones are just convenient.
