Hey everyone, I assembled this PC and ran a stress test on Aida 64. I noticed my CPU isn’t boosting to 3.4GHz as advertised by Intel. What’s going on? You can check the photo below for reference.

Try Cinebench R15 or R20 on a single core and observe the improvements; this should highlight the single-core turbo effect.

It's also an all-core workload. Previously I used a 2700X with a claimed 4.35Ghz boost (rough estimate), but that was single-core performance. Under full-core usage it dropped to 3.3-4Ghz, which is typical for CPUs. The 3.4Ghz figure probably reflects single-core operation, so I suggested running a test focused on one core to observe the results.

Damn, buddy, I assumed all cores would run at 3.4GHz during gaming, but I ended up spending a lot on this CPU (90 euros). I wonder if it's really suitable for gaming now—maybe only older titles work well, but most games require more than 3GHz.

90 euro is quite reasonable for an 8c Xeon on this generation. You might want to explore "turbo-locking" if your board supports it and has an X99 chipset. I’m not very familiar with it, but there’s a method that can make most Xeons run all cores at maximum turbo, roughly.

I understand, my setup isn’t set up for Turbo Boost and most of my components are K/X i7s that can handle full overclocking.
