I recently changed my CPU from a Ryzen 3 2200G to a Ryzen 5 3600 and am enjoying the upgrade. However, I've observed that it was initially running at 4.1 GHz right out of the box. I thought this might be incorrect, so I checked the BIOS and adjusted the MHZ and voltage on the overclocking screen, which successfully lowered the frequency. Now it's running at 3.8 GHz at 1.15V, and the thermal readings are normal. Performance hasn't dropped noticeably.
Regarding your concern, lowering the CPU frequency to 3.8 GHz was a good decision. Your current idle temperature has decreased from around 65°C to about 49°C, which is much better. The auto-overclock profile in BIOS was causing instability and higher temperatures, so turning it off helped stabilize things. If you're still learning, it's wise to avoid pushing the CPU beyond its safe limits—your cooling setup seems adequate now. Keep up the good work!

My 3600 runs between 3.6 and 4.1, which is typical for PB2, but my idle temps sit between 30-40°C while max temps reach around 70°C in a compact ITX unit. Something seems off with your setup. I'm not using heavy CPU tasks. My GPU handles most of the work during gameplay, so everything runs smoothly. I just wanted to avoid overheating my CPU since I don’t have a better cooler.
My temps in my house are not hot at all. I also have ample airflow through my case and all of the other components stay nice and cool. I just didn't really think I needed my cpu to run at that frequency when i'm not doing anything besides gaming and basic computing like discord calls as well as YouTube and what-not
