Hello, I recently purchased a Ryzen 9 5950x and installed it in my Corsair 680x case with a H115i 280MM radiator using TM30 thermal paste. However, I've noticed the CPU temperature is around 50°C at idle and rises to about 60°C even with minimal usage. During gaming sessions like COD, the temperature spikes to around 77°C, which seems unusual. I've re-applied the thermal paste several times, but it hasn't resolved the issue. Could anyone provide some advice? Thank you, Yannik.

Tmax for Ryzen 5000 series reaches 90°C, but it tends to decrease gradually as it nears that temperature. Unless you frequently exceed 90°C, it shouldn't be a major concern. My 5800X hits 85-88°C almost immediately when all core loads are active, causing a loss of 50-100MHz across cores. In games, it usually stays around 75-80°C. If you consistently stay below 80°C, it's fine. You need to recognize the system has 16 cores and 32 threads—beyond that heat production becomes significant. I don’t rely on an aggressive fan curve because I prefer quieter operation. Running all fans significantly lowers temps, though it can be uncomfortable for the ears.
