I recently purchased a Ryzen 5 5500 on my A320M-S2H and can't boot or see BIOS, only the GPU and CPU fans are active at full speed. I updated my BIOS but it still doesn't work. The GPU functions normally, so I tried switching the CPU to an ASUS B450M but the issue remains. The CPU is new, so I'm unsure what to do next. Please help.

The B450 board bios were not updated, which is unexpected since they should have received the latest updates.

Did you confirm this BIOS supports the 5500? The motherboard likely requires a beta BIOS, meaning the latest official release isn't the one you installed. Checking the board's webpage shows F55 is needed for the 5500, so verify your flash if it differs. Updated August 10, 2022 by Fasauceome

We might need additional details, but here’s a checklist of possible actions: Have you connected your CPU power cable? If not, that could be the issue. Did you connect your video cable to the GPU or the motherboard? Since the 5500 lacks built-in graphics, it won’t receive a signal through the motherboard video ports. Are you hearing any startup beeps? A single short beep usually means normal boot, while multiple or absent beeps suggest a problem. Have you reset your BIOS settings? Remove the CMOS battery for about a minute while the system is off; this clears any overclock settings and often resolves issues. Confirm whether you installed the latest BIOS update—there’s a chance it wasn’t applied correctly. The current version on the A320M-S2H supports the 5500, but an improper update could be the cause.

I verified the BIOS model of the A320M is f55 and looked up the required version on the Gigabyte website.

The CPU power cable is inserted, and the GPU is also connected via HDMI. No beeps were heard when starting the system or performing a BIOS reset to default settings.

It seems the updated B450 didn't work either, I'll need to return it.
