Discussing the upgrade question aside, my laptop running a Ryzen 3 2200U doesn’t satisfy the current Windows 11 requirements. In the "More about supported CPUs" section, the minimum specs call for at least 1 GHz with dual cores or more on a compatible 64-bit processor or SoC. Your Ryzen 2200U meets that baseline but falls short of the system-level demands. While it’s functional, this seems unexpected. What might I be overlooking? If this is meant to be intentional, it would be even more surprising than anticipated.
Windows 11 lists approved CPUs. On AMD platforms, only Ryzen 3xxx (Zen2) models and newer are officially recognized. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows...processors
W11 requires a minimum of a Ryzen 2000 (Zen+) processor. AMD's naming conventions are confusing, and the "2000" APUs are actually Zen-based chips that should have clearer labels like 1000-series.
