I noticed you mentioned the 32GB capacity, but it seems there might be a misunderstanding. The details refer to a 16GB limit instead. Let me know if you need further clarification.

Instead of choosing a MacBook Pro, you could use your 2014 MacBook Pro 15-inch, which performs similarly in Cubase to your newer 3600 Ryzen setup.

You don’t require a lot for music production. 16GB of RAM should work well, and an i5 processor will suffice.

Is there a better option since the request creates an extremely uneven setup that no one would want to buy off the shelf without choosing a specific version?

I wouldn't agree if they're playing symphony music.

You're experiencing performance issues with your i7-8550u after extended use. It seems the processor overheats quickly and needs to be restarted or turned off. Running CPU-intensive applications like VSTs strains it further. While 32GB RAM is sufficient, the system feels overloaded, especially with large music patches. Consider removing the powerful GPU if you don’t need high-end visuals, or explore lighter alternatives.

I'll look into it as well; I chose a PC over a MacBook mainly to cut costs.

It might make sense to delay purchasing a new model until the end of the year, since their arm architecture Macs are launching. I’m not certain if your DAW will still be compatible.

These models—Zephyrus g14, Zephyrus g15, Dell g5, and MSI Bravo 15—can handle all your needs from a small SSD. It’s no surprise you’d prefer more options!
