Experienced a sudden system freeze after three months of stable performance. Tried replacing parts and updating the operating system, but the issue persisted. Examined the socket using camera zoom and noticed a pin with a slightly bent tip that wasn’t obvious without magnification. This likely contributes to the intermittent freezes. No documentation available on the specific function of this pin.

I stopped the pin tip while fixing it, which caused PCI 16x to fail. The BIOS didn’t recognize the graphics card. I had to boot the system using internal graphics. Changed to an 8x slot and the GPU worked properly. So far the system has run Folding@home for 12 hours without freezing. I’ll wait a few more days. Having CPU graphics as a backup is helpful.
