Hi. I recently assembled my new PC. After launching, I noticed an orange light—after rearranging the RAM sticks, it seemed to stabilize. However, it still wouldn’t load and displayed white/green indicators. Another issue: my previous laptop failed, so I swapped in an SSD stick (Windows 11) into this new system (Intel vs AMD). I haven’t tried a bootable USB yet. I’m hoping to access the BIOS to check what’s happening. Should it load into BIOS if it doesn’t recognize the OS or is incompatible? Any additional tips would be appreciated.

The specifications for the new PC include the make and model of all installed components. You're correct about needing a fresh Windows installation rather than reusing an old one.

The chance of a laptop OS disk booting on another PC is minimal. Try removing the disk and accessing the BIOS first.

Motherboard model: ROG STRIX B850-I mini ITX
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9700X
Power Supply: 650W non-modular
Graphics: ASUS 5060 Ti with dual fan and 8GB memory
Memory: Crucial DDR5
Notes: I've heard it might still be available, but could need re-installation. I'm concerned about losing files, so checking BIOS would be helpful. Also, connecting HDMI to the motherboard port showed a PTPFM/PSP error when using the new CPU, but the GPU port works fine with fans spinning.

Thank you, I'll attempt that. There will be no storage device at all if I pull that one out.

Alright. So the motherboard is going to prompt the BIOS...

Your CPU includes integrated graphics. It might be easier to solve your issue by relying on the CPU's built-in graphics along with the motherboard video connections.

It has started up. I took out the GPU and SSD, except for those two, everything else seemed fine.
But when trying to insert the GPU, I notice some metal part inside... I think this might be the reason it can't be pushed in fully and it's not being detected. White light.
Is it supposed to be there?

The GPU features a notch at that barrier, which shouldn't cause any problems.
Could you confirm if you managed to reach the BIOS?

It's not the notch that distinguishes, but a metal component inside the smaller slot area. It's located in the middle when I push it. Don't believe it goes all the way through. :/
BIOS is fine; I understand how to proceed from there. I suppose the GPU problem is why I'm seeing white light on the motherboard, maybe.
But I don't want to damage it by forcing it further. The board is already bending when I push.
