Similar to phones and routers, Mediatek performs poorly in both areas. I looked for Wi-Fi 6 devices with Qualcomm chips, but they’re really costly. The budget-friendly options all seem to use Mediatek.

In fact, that was a mistake—I meant to say it's not like MediaTek is always bad, but they produce many cheaper chip sets compared to other makers, which means you're more likely to encounter them in less-than-ideal budget options.

Meditek isn't terrible, but it's definitely not on par with Qualcomm. I mainly prefer sticking with Qualcomm, though the Qualcomm options are too expensive, forcing me to revert to Wi-Fi 5.
