I saw the code 25253 on my Am486 DX2-80. It’s not immediately clear and matches the color of the CPU’s IHS if you consider the ceramic casing. I attempted to capture an image, but it wasn’t very sharp. What does this number refer to?

It might refer to a revision code. All listed models share the same identifier, yet the Am486 SX2-50 stands out with a unique number: 24361.

These variations highlight differences in manufacturing batches or component upgrades. The numbers suggest changes in chip revisions, memory types, and cooling requirements, which can affect compatibility and performance.

The package identifier is the model number used by AMD today. Usually it appears beneath the IHS on desktop components.

Likely a revision resource or web interface, not sure.

Sure, let me know if you'd like a revision or have any other changes in mind.

On a Ryzen 5 3600, source: Athlon 3000G appears distinctly at the bottom left.
