Details: MSI X570S Edge Max Wi-Fi Ryzen 7 5700X with Asus ROG RTX3060, 12GB OC 16x2 G, Skill Trident Z Deep Cool cooler, OCZ technology, 600W Samsung 980 SSD, 1TB M.2 drive. Built my first PC last Saturday night but it won’t start. The CPU indicator light is blinking red. I updated the BIOS using the flash bios option and reconnected everything. Still no POST sounds or beeps. Even after removing one RAM stick, the issue persists. Reducing to just the CPU, RAM, and SSD didn’t help either. I’m uncertain whether the problem lies with the CPU or the motherboard connector. I’ve been stressed for a few days and feel like I might be going crazy. I’m running out of ideas about what’s wrong—could be a bad motherboard or a defective CPU. I don’t have another AM4 CPU or board to test, and most people I know use Intel chips.

Remove the CMOS battery for five minutes, then attempt again. Consider reinserting the CPU into the socket. You might also try updating to a different BIOS version. Don’t burn it down just yet—we’ll find a solution. Are the fans spinning and receiving power?

I have repositioned the CPU two times already. The fans are rotating and all RGB lights are activated, indicating the board is receiving power. I haven’t taken out the CMOS battery because of the button on the IO plate. I’ll try to resist the urge to watch it overheat lol.

Attempting to remove the ram and start without it installed. Do you hear any error sounds?

The issue appears related to the CPU or motherboard. The recommended sequence is CPU → BIOS → RAM. No RAM errors suggest a hang before reaching this stage. Would you like me to suggest a replacement CPU for testing?

I don’t understand. My previous one was an Intel, and my friend who has a PC also has an Intel—it’s sad.
