Updated 14 Feb – Disabled iGPU in BIOS. When I turn on my PC, the following happens: power on and fans start, no display signal appears on the monitor, all fans shut down, then restart at full speed, and there’s no way to enter BIOS. It boots into Windows. During this process, the motherboard LEDs light up in this order: DRAM → GPU → BOOT. I’m not sure if this indicates an error or just a check of each component. Installed today. The PC boots occasionally with an image, sometimes it starts normally but then freezes to a black screen saying no signal. Is the CPU ignoring my graphics card? Updated February 14, 2023 by Mackie

Access your BIOS settings and turn off the onboard CPU graphics. This was necessary for my 7700x model.

Alright, no problem. If it doesn't work, just try again. We'll find a solution together.

What board did you install? You're using a 7700x with an ASUS X670E-F. You need to manually configure the PCIe link speed to PCIe 4.0 for your RTX 4080, even though the BIOS is set to "default to dGPU." I haven't turned off your integrated graphics just yet.

It would also be wise to note how the fans move up and down frequently at this point. Fixing this later is still on the table.

No, I didn't check the CPU temperature.

I noticed a problem with the 8-pin connection on the motherboard. The cable I was using had too few square pins, so I switched to a 4-pin 12V connector with the right pins. Still facing the same issue. The PC sometimes fails to power on. The fan speeds up and then it starts looping. Eventually it boots but idles at around 65°C with the case open. Using the other cable, it idled between 70-75°C. I re-seated the cooler, but I don’t have any thermal paste left, so I couldn’t install it. I’ll check again tomorrow. It seems like an overheating problem might be the cause.

Updated 14 Feb – Disabled iGPU in BIOS. When I turn on my PC, the process begins – fans activate, no display appears, all fans stop, then restart at full speed, and BIOS isn’t accessible. The motherboard LEDs illuminate in this order: DRAM → GPU → BOOT. I’m not sure if this indicates an issue or just a standard check of components.
