If you have a picture of it, it would help confirm. If the CPU was damaged, you'd likely see clear signs of physical harm on the chip, which should be noticeable in a photo. In either case, the motherboard probably needs a BIOS update to function with the 13400. To avoid the hassle of removing the CPU for photos, try using Q-Flash Plus to refresh the board and check if it works. There are guides available in the motherboard manual and on Gigabyte's YouTube channel.

This was my initial reaction, though I didn’t notice any visible issues with the CPU. I’ll take it off and share photos tomorrow. The board I bought is revision 1.3, but I’m unsure if it’s the latest version—more details later this morning.
