This new motherboard seems to be affecting GPU startup problems.
I’m facing difficulties with my GPU not working correctly. I purchased replacement components from Amazon and assembled everything carefully. After confirming all connections were secure, the device powered on and functioned properly until the GPU fans started spinning up and then stopped. The VGA and boot lights appeared on the motherboard but turned off after a short time. After resetting it, it successfully booted into Windows. I verified hardware detection in Device Manager, but the GPU wasn’t listed under “Display Adapters” – it only showed “Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.” I noticed the GPU felt warm, suggesting it was getting enough power from the PSU. I tried another GPU and installed it, which also failed to appear in the list. When I moved the GPU to a different PC, it worked correctly. I changed cables, removed extensions, and even swapped fans and an AI cooler, but the issue persisted. Could there be a problem with my motherboard? Please advise—I’m really confused!
did you attempt to install the nvidia driver package? i've noticed a basic gpu driver sometimes doesn't auto-install, leaving other gpu drivers from windows update uninstalled. you mentioned running ddu first; when one of my 1080ti failed, it destroyed my board—likely a basic display adapter, possibly also a sli-related issue. eventually, i replaced both the board and the gpu.
I haven't attempted any graphics driver installations or Windows updates. I'll proceed with that.
