Hello, I just completed a PC build for my brother and noticed a clicking sound coming from the power supply unit. The system uses an EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 GT with an 80 Plus Gold 1000W rating. Someone might have some insight into what could be causing this issue. There don’t appear to be any cables hitting the PSU fan, so I’m not sure if that’s the source. Would it be wise to try getting a replacement part from EVGA? The noise isn’t extremely loud, but it’s definitely worth investigating further.

Need to replace it likely due to shipping issues. Avoid using the damaged item and opt for a better one.

You're considering whether bent pins on the USB 3.0 header might be the issue. It seems possible that contacting pins could cause a short circuit, especially since the top left pins appear to be touching in the photo. You're thinking about replacing the power supply and straightening the pins. The fact that the system powers on suggests the PSU is likely the source of the noise.
