I recently assembled my new PC using an ASRock b540 pro4 board and an AMD 5600G processor. It’s been having issues getting stable operation. Initially, it would start briefly but fail to produce any signal before shutting down repeatedly. Early on, I was advised to update the BIOS, but when I swapped in a known-working CPU, it would power off entirely. Attempts to install the 5600G also failed—still no response. I even tried running the BIOS update on another machine that worked, but the whole process collapsed. I’ve also experimented with different RAM, power supplies, and connections. I’m feeling quite stuck; any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ahead of time!

The BIOS update applies to the board, not specifically to the B450 CPU.

The processor I had was a Gen 2 Ryzen 5 2600 Yea B450, but I probably misspoke.

have you attempted to reposition the RAM? test each stick individually in each slot using the 2600. if it still doesn’t install in any setup with the confirmed functional 2600, it’s probably a faulty motherboard. for extra certainty, try it alongside a known working RAM as well. also consider clearing CMOS, though I’m not sure if that will resolve the issue.

I attempted to reinstall the RAM and used a single stick throughout the troubleshooting to eliminate the possibility of a faulty RAM module. If the issue had been a bad motherboard, wouldn't the other PC with the 2600 have worked too, even after trying it with the 5600G?

Your board isn’t compatible with either option, suggesting a faulty board. Have you attempted to reset the CMOS on the other board and tested both onboard graphics and the GPU?
