Hey, this is my second attempt at assembling a gaming PC (I did it with my dad). On my first build, I had 32 gigabytes of RAM, an RTX 3070, an i9 10900kf, and faced a black screen problem. Initially, turning off XMP for RAM helped. Later, the issue returned, possibly due to overheating. After removing the side panels to improve airflow, it stopped happening.

Now, I'm experiencing the same problem with an RTX 5070ti, Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an 8-core processor and a 1500-watt PSU. I have Expo mode enabled and might turn it off to test. It seems the problem wasn’t there initially.

My first game was Cyberpunk 2077 at 2K ultra settings, and it ran smoothly for a couple of hours. But last night it went black instantly. Even with a 2D game today, after opening a Chrome window, it still blacked out.

I installed all drivers from the Asus site (motherboard model ASUS B650 E E), which included AMD graphics drivers. I’m hoping this isn’t the cause. I also tried deleting those drivers several times, but it’s unclear if they were fully removed. Anyone have any suggestions? The airflow here is much better, and the GPU temps stay below 60-65°C, while the CPU seems normal. I need advice or tips.

Edit: I ran a DDU on the AMD drivers last night, then reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers this morning. I also adjusted the 12-pin connector and 600W cable connections to the GPU. I’m still unsure, but I noticed some screen tearing and artifacts—usually, they appear as a black box flashing on my second monitor. I also bought new display cables, which seemed to help slightly, though the tearing persists.

On my original PC, with 32 gigs of RAM, an RTX 3070, and an i9 10900kf, I experienced a black screen problem. Initially, disabling XMP for RAM helped.
After cleaning out the side panels to improve airflow, the issue disappeared.
If removing those parts resolves the problem, it might be related to overheating.
Now I'm facing the same issue on an RTX 5070ti with a Ryzen 7 9800x3d 8 core and a 1500-watt PSU.
When sharing troubleshooting threads, it's important to provide full system details. Please list your specs clearly, including CPU, cooler, motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, PSU, chassis, OS, monitor, and the age of the PSU along with its BIOS version.
Did you reinstall the operating system from the older build without restoring it?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Cooler: Nautilus 360 RS ARFB
Motherboard: Asus TUF B650E-E wifi
Ram: Microcenter home brand, name not remembered exactly
SSDs: New primary is Microcenter, plus Samsung 970 EVO and an Addlink (all 2tb). Also has an external Samsung SSD.
GPU: Asus PRIME Rtx 5070ti 16gb
PSU: Quiet power supply, 12-1500W modular, 80 plus platinum etc.
Chassis: Corsair model with ample space
OS: Windows 11
Monitor: HP Omen X and HP Omen 27i IPS
The PSU is brand new
BIOS: BIOS setup is tricky due to startup lag on monitors; CPU Z reports version 0215, AMD AGESA ComboAM5PI, 1.2.9.3a - Patch A.
I performed a clean OS installation on the new drive I purchased. I didn’t remove Windows 10 from the Samsung EVO drive, but I assumed it wouldn’t cause problems. I simply installed it and was able to use it for about five days without issues, though the black screen problem has reappeared recently.

BIOS: Accessing the BIOS requires some adjustments with my monitors since they experience startup lag. The CPU Z indicates the current version is 0215, AMD AGESA ComboAM5PI, 1.2.9.3a - Patch A.

Based on the motherboard's support page,
https://www.asus.com/motherboards-c...pd...50E-E-WIFI
you're using the initial BIOS release. It's recommended to ensure you have the most recent chipset driver from AMD's site, then update the BIOS to 3602—the latest version available at that time. After flashing, clear the CMOS once you confirm the BIOS has been successfully updated to 3602.

I did not remove Windows 10 from the Samsung EVO drive, but I assumed it wouldn't cause any problems. I simply left it in.

Format and erase all partitions related to Windows 10 from the 970 Evo drive you brought over from the previous system, unless you intended to try a dual boot setup.

My RAM model is G.Skill 32g 2x (total 32). The new M.2 storage is an IPSG 2tb Per plus NVMe SSD. I updated the BIOS to a newer version and reactivated EXPO. Disabled integrated graphics as mentioned in another article, though I’m not sure if it helps. Also set fan speeds to always max, regardless of conditions. I’m not certain if this will improve things, but I tried. I’ll keep you posted.

Still blackscreening. Doesn't matter if I'm playing a game or not. There is also a screen flickering issue on a few games, including MGSV, after BIOS update. This is getting ridiculous. All that windows event viewer shows me is the license failing issue. There was a gamebar error too for the widget/exe even though I literally have that garbage disabled. There is also an errror for secure boot certificate having been updated but not applied.
Edit: I tried disabling EXPO and that did not help either.
